Urban design for street improvements in the Denny Triangle neighborhood of downtown Seattle.
Three critical elements drove Hewitt’s design plans for Westlake Avenue: creating economic opportunity, establishing sound sustainability practices and improving the street character.
Planned improvements to existing intersections will lay the foundation for renewed economic opportunity. Realignment will create more 90-degree intersections with Westlake and provide a better framework for development sites and an enhanced pedestrian environment.
We also developed a list of sustainable opportunities and incentives that provide multiple options to be used at various locations along Westlake Avenue.
