Seattle Hebrew Academy
Seattle, WA

Architecture for renovation of a private school in Seattle, WA.

The Seattle Hebrew Academy, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, was hard hit by the Nisqually earthquake. The damage forced the school to operate in portables on the site. The work program consisted of a seismic upgrade, ADA upgrade, modification of classroom accommodation and a revised site plan that allowed safer automobile access and child drop off while retaining the setting of the historic building.

The building has been modified to respond to a program for 300 students, with advanced specialty laboratory facilities, food service, gymnasium facilities and expanded outdoor play areas.
