Link Light Rail Stations
SeaTac and Tukwila, WA

Architecture, landscape architecture and urban design for two Sound Transit Link Light Rail Stations.

The design for stations in the vicinity of SeaTac and Tukwila included programming based on the preferred alignment through final design. The project established design parameters for the stations and coordinated community outreach with the City of SeaTac.

The Tukwila International Boulevard / Southcenter Boulevard Station is the interim southern terminus of the initial 14-mile light rail system. The project includes a Park and Ride facility for 600 cars, heavy METRO bus and para-transit functions with a shuttle to the airport at three minute headways. The site is adjacent to a new freeway off ramp and will be a landmark structure for both pedestrian and automobile traffic.

The SeaTac/Airport Station will provide a direct pedestrian connection to the airport and is scheduled to open at the end of 2009. The project also includes a pedestrian overpass that would connect the station to future development in the City of SeaTac.
