LaSalle-Creamery Renovation & Addition
Seattle, WA

Architecture for renovation and new construction of a mixed-use residential building in the Pike Place Market.

The LaSalle project marks the first new construction in the Market since the 1970s. It involves renovation of the historic LaSalle building and adjacent construction of a new six-story building. In addition to 64 affordable rental units for low-income seniors, the project includes a new Pike Place Market Senior Center and more than 2,500 square feet of retail space along Western Avenue.

Pike Place Market is one of the most sensitive areas in Seattle. The project's design was approved by the Pike Place Market Historical Commission and the City of Seattle. The addition enhances the Western Avenue façade of the Market. It demonstrates the simplicity and directness which is at the heart of the Market's architecture.
