Broadway Market Renovation
Seattle, WA

Architecture for tenant improvements designed for a flagship grocery store.

Built in 1928, the historic Broadway Market is the heart of the shopping and entertainment district of Seattle's Capitol Hill. The unique character of the neighborhood and landmark building were carefully considered during the design process.

Renovations included the provision of three new elevators, new stairs, new storefront, scissor lifts and upgraded mechanical systems to support a 60,000 square foot flagship grocery store for Quality Food Centers. Complex structural upgrades to existing steel and post-tensioned concrete structures were performed without sacrificing store operability or merchandising.

All of the work was performed while the building remained occupied by both retail and residential tenants.
